I own more salt than a steakhouse. The salt was never the hard part.

Half-burned.

The candle on my bathroom shelf has been sitting there since October. Half-burned. Wick black. I lit it once with real intention — the whole bit, the quiet moment, the exhale — and then I just… didn't again.

It's still there. I can see it from where I'm writing this.

I started a company around this work. That's the part that's hard to say out loud.

The whole problem.

I know what a room feels like when it's off. I've done the standing-in-the-doorway-with-my-eyes-closed thing that would look completely unhinged to anyone who doesn't get it. I own more salt than a steakhouse. I have opinions about which corners of a room collect what.

I'm not bad at it. That's the annoying part. When I actually do it, it works.

But "actually doing it" turns out to be the whole problem. Not the skill. Not the knowledge. The showing up, again, on a Wednesday, when nothing is visibly wrong and nobody is asking and the dishes aren't done and there's a meeting in ten minutes.

That gap — between knowing exactly what to do and not doing it — is the reason Firefly Wellness exists. I didn't start a company because I had a business plan. I started one because I was the candle-on-the-shelf person, and I figured if I couldn't sustain it manually, the answer probably wasn't to try harder.

Nothing was added.

Drive an hour outside any city at night and the sky is full of stars. Thousands of them. They were there the whole time. You just couldn't see them because of all the light pollution sitting on top.

Nothing was added to the sky. Something was taken off it.

Homes work the same way. Every home has its own light. I call it First Light. And a kind of covering settles over it. From stress, from visitors, from the sheer friction of people living their lives in a space. I call that Overcast.

Nothing was ever lost or damaged or dimmed. The light is native and permanent. The covering is added and removable.

The covering also comes back. That's not a flaw — it's just how spaces work. The same way you don't wash your dishes once and declare the kitchen handled forever.

So daily was never a marketing decision. It's what the practice itself asks for.

It just runs.

I do the clearing. The machine does the remembering.
